MASTERS OF STYLE
PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc hereinafter referred to as (the “Promoter”), sponsors the Imperial Leather & Canoe “Masters of Style” Contest.
The Masters of Style Contest (the “Contest”) is intended to be conducted across five (5) Universities in Nigeria only and shall be construed and evaluated according to applicable Nigeria laws. No purchase is necessary. Entrants must be of the age of majority in the province of Nigeria or older at the time of entry. These terms and conditions are void in whole or part where prohibited by law. Entry in this contest constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions (the “Contest Rules”).
1. ELIGIBILITY
i. To be eligible for this Contest, the Entrant must: be a legal resident of Nigeria, of the age of maturity in Nigeria (18 – 30 years of age), and must be a student in one of the Universities listed below:
a. University of Lagos
b. University of Jos
c. University of Benin
d. University of Calabar
e. University of Port Harcourt
ii. By participating in this competition, the Entrant understands that the Promoter reserves the right to use names, images, videos, details and any piece of material in relation to this event in any jurisdiction beyond the end date of this campaign for promotional, marketing purposes, entertainment, informational and/or for any other purpose that the Promoter deems fit with no payment consideration to the Entrant.
iii. The Promoter shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion; to disqualify any Entrant should such an entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.
iv. All Entrants must ensure that they have a valid means of identification.
2. CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins at 6:00 a.m. Greenwich Meridian Time (“GMT”) on June 25, 2018 and ends on September 07, 2018(the “Contest Period”). To be eligible for the Contest, entries must be received between the contest period/timeline from June 25, 2018 to August 01, 2018 after which time the Contest Entry Period will be closed and no further entries will be accepted. The contest is only valid for this period, 3. PARTICIPATION
i. Entrants must follow Imperial Leather Nigeria & Canoe Laundry Nigeria across all its digital and social media platforms.
ii. To sign-up for the competition, Entrants are to visit the webpage to register and submit two of their designs. Registration online is not an automatic guarantee to be shortlisted as a Participant for the competition. The Promoter reserves the sole right to select eligible Participants for the first phase of the competition.
iii. The Promoter will shortlist ten (10) Participants per campus.
iv. Employees of the Promoter, associated company, (collectively, the “Promoter”), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and the household members of any of the above, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
4. SELECTION CRITERIA
a. Participants would be selected using the following criteria;
i. Creativity & Originality: What inspired the participant’s design and relation to theme mentioned.
ii. Design & Detail: Design and details of the participant’s fashion piece.
iii. Time consumption: The ability to bring the participant’s design to life within the estimated time allocated.
b. It is a pre-condition that the shortlisted Participants must have the basic knowledge of how to sew by hand and with a sewing machine.
c. The ten (10) shortlisted Participants per University will have two (2) days to create & sew a design in the Masters of Style Booth.
d. The ten (10) shortlisted Participants per University will then showcase the sewn outfits at a “Showcase” event where a winner would be selected with 2 runner ups.
e. Masters of Style team reserves the sole right to disqualify any entries that contain profanity, sexual content, abusive language or any other offensive or indecent content.
f. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged or delayed entries for any reason whatsoever
5. WINNER SELECTION
i. Determination of the final winner will be done via a 3-phase process.
Phase 1 – The Campus Showcase
In each campus, student fashion designers would be asked to bring previously designed pieces and be tasked to also create a fashion piece at the Masters of Style sewing booth. At this phase, 10 student fashion designers will be shortlisted in each campus where the top 2 winners from each campus will qualify for the next phase of the competition.
The Winner will win N50,000 + a gift bag from Imperial Leather & Canoe and qualify for The Masters of Style Incubator program for 4 days.
1st Runner Up will win N25,000 + a gift bag from Imperial Leather & Canoe and qualify for The Masters of Style Incubator program for 4 days.
2nd Runner Up will win N15,000 and a gift bag from Imperial Leather & Canoe.
The remaining participants will get consolation prizes.
Phase 2 – The Masters of Style Incubator Program
The 10 successful student fashion designers to qualify from the campus showcase then come to Lagos for the Masters of Style Incubator program; a 4-day program that includes:
• A meet and greet with fashion designers, models and Judges.
• A day with Latasha at the PZ office.
• A day with Mai Atafo at the PZ office.
• A Masters of Style Showcase.
At the end of the 4-day event, 5 student fashion designers will qualify for the Dare 2 Dream Bootcamp for the Masters of Style (Design Category) competition while the remaining 5 student fashion designers get eliminated.
Phase 3 – Dare 2 Dream Bootcamp
The final 5 student fashion designers from the Masters of Style Incubator program then qualify into the Dare 2 Dream bootcamp that lasts for 10 days.
This will include a series of competitions and fashion showcases between the final 5 fashion designers were 2 designers will be eliminated.
The final 3 designers will then be judged at a Grand Finale where the winner of the Masters of Style Campus Edition will emerge.
The Winner will win N500,000 + an internship programme with a top fashion Designer and a gift bag from Imperial Leather & Canoe.
ii. Judges decision will be based on defined criteria and will be final.
iii. Winners shall be selected as follows:

d. Dates for Stages 2 to 3 will be communicated after Stage 1 across all Imperial Leather & Canoe digital and social media platforms.
e. Before being declared the Prize Winner, the selected entrant shall be required to correctly have met the necessary requirements to comply with the Contest Rules.
f. If needed, the Promoter reserves the right, but not the obligation, to screen, filter and/or monitor information provided by entrants.
g. Upon notification, the selected entrant must respond by Email to the contact Admin / Email provided in the notification, and the Promoter must receive the selected entrant’s response within two (2) business days of such notification. If the selected entrant does not respond in accordance with the Contest Rules, he/she will be disqualified and another entrant may be selected in the Promoter’ sole discretion. The Promoter are not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected entrant to receive notification or for the Promoter to receive a selected entrant’s response.
6.     PRIZES
a. Prizes
i. Winner – N50,000( Campus Showcase)
a. ii. 1st Runner Up – N25,000(Campus Showcase)
b. iii. 2nd Runner Up – N15,000(Campus Showcase)
iv. Potential winners must continue to comply with all the Rules & Regulations listed herein. Winnings are contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. v. In the event that the winner or potential winner is disqualified for any reason, and time permitting, the Judges will award the prize to the 1st Runner Up. In the event, that the 1st Runner Up is disqualified for any reason, and if time permits, the 2nd Runner Up will be awarded the prize.  In the event that the 2nd Runner Up is disqualified for any reason, the prize will remain un-awarded.
vi. Top 5 Fashion Designers from the Masters of Style Incubator Programme- N100,000 each.
b. Grand Prize
i. The Winner will win N500,000 + an internship programme with a top fashion Designer and a gift bag from Imperial Leather & Canoe
a. Final winner will be awarded at the Grand Finale in front of a live audience, panel of Judges and media.
b. Prizes are non–transferable.
c. The decision of the panel of Judges is FINAL and no correspondence will be entered into to determine the decision of the judges.
d. The Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner on the grounds that the selected winner declines the prize offer based on personal issues. No prize will be deferred to a later date than the stipulated reward duration.
e. Any further winner will be selected on the same criteria as the original winner and will be subject to these rules.
f. Any prize not collected for any reason a month after notification will be forfeited and no correspondence will be entered into.
g. In the event that the prize is not available despite the reasonable endeavors to secure it, the Company has the right to substitute prizes of equal value.
h. Entrant’s participation in this competition is considered as acceptance and an undertaking to be bound by these Contest Rules.
7. GENERAL
i. The Promoter will not accept responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, telephone lines to related to or resulting from participation in the Competition.
ii. The Promoter shall not be held liable for any copyrighted material, which has been uploaded by an entrant during the competition. All entrants must upload pictures or videos of which they own the copyright.
iii. The Promoter has the right to modify or terminate the competition without notice. In the event of such change or termination, by participating in the competition, Entrants have agreed to relinquish their rights in respect to the competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter.
iv. The Promoter has the right to use footages and pictures from the competition’s activations including the images and personal details provided by the Entrant on any of its adverting materials (during and after the competition) without prior notice or consent of the Entrant and without payment of any modeling fee.
v. Entrant’s participation in this competition is considered as acceptance and abidance to the Terms and Conditions of the competition.
vi. The Promoter will add the personal information provided by the Entrants to its database and provide personal data to the third parties it engages with in line with promotion and activation
vii. The Promoter has the right to use the images taken of the winner for publicity purposes in any manner it deems fit, without further remuneration being made payable to the winner.
viii. The Promoter, its associated companies, directors and employees, shall not be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the Entrant.
ix. The decision of the panel of Judges during all phases of the competition is FINAL and no correspondence will be entered into.
x. By entering the Contest, entrant releases the organizers from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to the entrant or any other person, including personal injury, death, or property damage, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any Prize, participation in the Contest, any breach of the Contest Rules, or in any Prize-related activity. The entrant agrees to fully indemnify Releases from any and all claims by third parties relating to the Contest, without limitation.
8. RIGHTS CLEARANCE AND INDEMNIFICATION BY ENTRANT
i. The Entrant confirms to the Promoter that he/she is the sole owner of all rights, title and interest in the sketch(es) ,designs and creation(s) submitted in connection with the Contest.
ii. By entering the Competition, the Entrant hereby warrants that all information submitted is true, current and complete and they have full rights to the sketch and designs that is uploaded and that the use of the said material shall not constitute a breach of any third party’s copyright or other intellectual property rights.
iii. The entrant hereby confirms that all sketch(es) and designs are an original work, solely created by the entrant, and that no third party participated as a designer or co-creator in the sketch(es), designs or creation(s) or any part thereof. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any claims of infringement of rights to copyright, privacy and/or personality, and all such liability shall remain with the Entrant. In addition, each Entrant represents to Promoter that all sketches and creations submitted and presented during this Contest do not infringe any copyright interest of any third party. The Promoter reserves the discretion and sole right to exclude any sketch or creation on the basis of concerns relating to the rights of third parties, including but not limited to privacy and copyright.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
i. The Promoter assumes no responsibility or liability for lost, late, unintelligible/illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected or incomplete entries, notifications, responses, from any computer, online, software, telephone, hardware or technical malfunctions that may occur, including but not limited to malfunctions that may affect the transmission or non-transmission of an entry.
ii. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by any telecommunications company or website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest.
iii. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries.
iv. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail, players, or browsers, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website, or on account of any combination of the foregoing or otherwise.
10.CONDUCT
i. By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by the Contest Rules, which will be posted on our Masters of Style website and made available throughout the Contest Period.
ii. Entrant further agrees to be bound by the decisions of the Judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects. The Promoter reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant found to be:
a. Violating the Contest Rules;
b. Tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest;
c. Violating the terms of service, conditions of use and/or general rules or guidelines, property or service; and/or
d. Acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
11.PRIVACY / USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
By participating in the Contest, the Entrant:
a. Grants to the Promoter the right to use his/her name, mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address (“Personal Information”) for the purpose of administering the Contest, including but not limited to contacting and announcing the Winners;
b. Grants to the Promoter the right to use his/her Personal Information for publicity and promotional purposes relating to the Contest, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, without further compensation unless prohibited by law; and
c. Acknowledges that the Promoter may disclose his/her Personal Information to third-party agents and service providers of any of the Promoter in connection with any of the activities listed in (a) and (b) above.
12.INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Promoter and/or their affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
13.TERMINATION  
i. Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, and/or modify, amend or suspend Contest, and/or the Contest Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice.
14.GOVERNING LAW
These are the official Contest Rules. The Contest is subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Contest Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable laws. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and the Promoter in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
15.DISPUTE RESOLUTION
In the event of an unlikely dispute as a result of these Contest Rules, the parties involved shall use their best endeavors to settle any dispute or difference of opinion between them, arising from or in connection with this Contest Rules amicably through mutual discussion. In the event that the parties are unable to settle any dispute or differences by mutual discussion, the matter shall be referred to Arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act Cap A18, Laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004, by sole arbitrator appointed by the Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (Nigeria Branch) and the place of the Arbitration shall be Lagos State, Nigeria. The arbitral award shall be final and binding between the Parties except where there is misconduct on the part of the arbitrator or error on the face of the award.
16.GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Promotion, or any part of it, for any reason, including, but not limited to, if any fraud, technical failures, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized intervention or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion.
ii. In the event of cancellation, the Promoter reserves the right to select the winners from among all non-suspect eligible entries received up to the time of cancellation. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules and Regulations or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner and void all associated entries.
iii. In case of cancelation of the Contest, the Promoter cannot be held as liable.
iv. All personal details about the Participants to the Masters of Style contest will be kept during and after the contest.
v. Any questions, complaints or comments about the Contest can be made in writing and sent as an inbox message to the Imperial Leather & Canoe Laundry Nigeria Facebook page.
